Anyone knows how to manually trigger the git update?ĮDIT1: Also, if it might help reproduction on the dev team side, I modified my git installation before the update just by adding one line to my /etc/bash.bashrc file.ĮDIT2: I manually updated my git installation to the 2.14.3 version but integration within GitHub Desktop is still broken. And the update process didn't ask for privilege escalation so it definitely cannot update git anyway (since it's installed in Program Files). However, when I go to the directory where git is installed, I can see it's still on version 2.14.1 and hasn't been updated to 2.14.3 like the changelog for 1.0.5 states. It told me there was a new update so I ask it to restart straight away (because I needed the new git version introduced in 1.0.5) and since then, it won't let me open git bash from it anymore. Same here!! My GitHub Desktop was on version 1.0.4 just minutes ago and it could open git bash without a problem. I also contacted GitHub support regarding this issue.
The issue was also occurring on GitHub Desktop 1.0.5. I tried reinstalling both Git for Windows and GitHub Desktop but the issue persisted.
